In March 2008, Bastar Divyang Seva Samiti established a Rehabilitation Centre for mentally ill women at Kolchur in Bastar District, responding to a request from district authorities to support women found wandering on the streets without family care or social protection.
Currently, the center provides safe shelter, medical care, psychological support, and rehabilitation services to approximately 27 women. The facility ensures dignity, safety, and compassionate care for its residents.
In 2021, the center was integrated with the Gharonda Yojana Scheme of the Chhattisgarh State Government, strengthening institutional support and resources for mental health rehabilitation.
