Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR)

Bastar Divyang Seva Samiti implements Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) programs aimed at identifying, supporting, and empowering persons with disabilities at the grassroots level. The program focuses on reaching remote and underserved villages where access to specialized services is limited.

Through participatory surveys, awareness initiatives, and early intervention programs, BDSS works closely with families, local communities, and village institutions to ensure early identification of disabilities and timely access to rehabilitation services. The approach emphasizes inclusion, participation, and community ownership.

Key Components of CBR Program

  • Early identification of disabilities
  • Awareness and sensitization in rural communities
  • Referral linkage to medical and therapeutic services
  • Community mobilization for inclusive education
  • Formation of self-help groups and Bal Panchayats
  • Family counseling and capacity building

The CBR model adopted by BDSS aligns with national and international best practices in disability-inclusive development, ensuring sustainable and long-term impact.
